To my alarm clock
Every morning I lie there innocently sleeping When the peace is ruptured by a horrible beeping. My serenity ripped asunder, sudden and drastic By this evil, demonic, red-eyed piece of plastic.
I roll over in pain and pound on the snooze, Groaning, moaning, thinking 'What's there to lose?' 'Don't make me get up, just nine minutes more.' The same thing I've said every morning before.
It's not that I hate mornings or dread the new day. It's just that I loathe waking up in this way. I'd much rather simply rise up with the light, Glowing in the window, chasing away the night.
But the sudden screaming, the incessant fuss, Makes me want to yell and cry and simply to cuss. Especially the knowledge that all of my sorrow Will be repeated the same time, same way, tomorrow.

Let's make a deal
You forgive me for liking you too much, And I'll forgive you for not liking me enough.
You forgive me for missing you so, And I'll forgive you for being so cold.
You forgive me for the loud racing of my heart, And I'll forgive you for not hearing it.
You forgive me for playing your games, And I'll forgive you for toying with my emotions.
You forgive me for finding you so attractive, And I'll forgive you for not noticing.
You forgive me for raising you up so high, And I'll forgive you for bringing me down so low.
You forgive me for wanting to be with you, And I'll forgive you for avoiding me.
You forgive me for being so pathetic, And I'll forgive you for taking advantage of it.
You forgive me for not being able to let go, And I'll forgive you for never having latched on.
You forgive me for having hopes and dreams, And I'll forgive you for crushing them.
Forgiveness brings inner peace. Do we have a deal?

Lessons on Life
Pictures of same scene, different seasons
There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.
The first son he sent in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.
When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.
The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.
The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise.
The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.
The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.
The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.
He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.
If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.
Moral:
Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Don't judge life by one difficult season. Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come.

Letting go
I have this little box Filled with memories of you. Sometimes I open it And remember the times we shared. It makes me feel whole, just as much as empty, Happy, just as much as sad, And, loved just as much as lonely.
As I pick up the scattered memories, I feel as though I am picking up Pieces of my heart. I smell them, feel them, Touch them, and remember them.
When I put them together, I feel as though as I am constructing a mold of my heart, Replacing each piece of the frame. Every time I open the box, The frame gets stronger and less fragile.
It makes me smile to know that At one time I was loved and that I loved. Many pieces remind me of the pain you gave me, But with sorrow and grief... comes power and triumph And I feel as though I have won.
You may have broke my heart But you taught me something; If you love someone, really really love them, Love will give you the strength to let them go

What Is Love???
Love is sweet, love is kind It isn't just a piece of mind Love is something you need to give Something that we share and believe
Love doesn't mind you To cry a tear or two But true love isn't sad It's never bad.
Love is unique Something like an antique When it's broken It seems to be forsaken But then someone comes and see the gold All that's scattered now is whole to hold.
What is love, you ask It's something that can never be fully described It's different to everyone And it's really up to you to decide.
Love is powerful yet can be weak Something that everyone seems to seek Love is mindful and understanding When everything falls It'll be the last one standing Though it seems like a small matter Never judge emotion by its size Understand what love is You'll see what a world there is.

Every dog has his day
It was that time of the year again, when the FEs came into the college. Needless to say, all the bird-watchers were keeping their eyes open for ahem.....you know what!!! He was sitting in the quad with his friends and they all were staring at the stage...as usual...waiting for something to happen and liven up things in this dull life in an engineering college. Soemone up there must have heard him, because suddenly.. out of nowhere, emerged a vision beauty, so alluring, so perfect, that he forgot himself entirely. He ogled shamelessly as dainty steps traversed the Quad, drafter in her had, innocence on her face, she could only have been a freshie.By now his heart was pounding like a Enfield mo-bike. He noticed, to his obvious chagrin, he was not the only one paying visual tributes to this Goddess. TO his delight she didn't seem to notice anyone else either. She seemed to be walking in his direcion. Was he imagining it?? or were her eyes really fixed on him?? A lilting, musical voice said," Hi!!" Wham!!! A surge of current short-circutied his internal connections ( Sorry but these enginnering colleges do affect your vocab). He stood up eagerly to respond to her greeting, an obvious indication of her good taste and charming manners. She brushed past to him to talk to the nerdy shrivelled guy standing behind him- The #%&@! He tried to assume an air of nonchalance and sat down, hoping nobody had seen the way he had become a "popat". But one glance at her and her amused eyes( this time really fixed on him) revealed to him that she had noticed!! Darn! Darn!! Darn!! How humiliating yaar!! To add salt to his wound, his "friends" almost howled with laughter, the beasts!! He slunk away, wishing the earth would swallow him or something. He told himself not to fret so much...something good was bound to come out of it. Atleast she noticed him from amongst the crowd!! He made his mind. The next day he waited for her in the canteen during lunch break. There she came, surrounded by a bevy of girls which ruled out the direct approach. No problem!!.......he could play the waiting game. Just then a brilliant idea struck him. "Why don't I go to her class pretending to be a freshie??" he thought."Hurraaay!!" he almost jumped with joy. " Hopefully, I might even get to sit at a vantage point to recharge my emotions" He impatiently waited till 2:15- the time they would leave for their class. He followed at a discrete distance. He continued his 'dogged' persuit and in the process, reached the Mechanics Building...he hadn't been there in ages. Since he was in BE...it was almost 3 years since he visited Mech building. His guilty conscience made it seem as if everyone around him was staring at him.All of a sudden , she turned and there was no place he could hide. She said something to her friends, who took one look at him and promptly giggled. "Oh, these dumb girls!!" He thought.
Finally they reached their destination. He tried to sneak in between two boys from FE hoping that the Prof. Won't notice. But No luck, man!! Professors sharp rebuke dashed his optimism and he was kicked out. "Phirsey popat!! why God?? Why me??" He murmured as he stepped out of the class. "Enough is enough!!" he thought. "How many more times shoudl I get myself insulted in front her??" Next day outside the canteen he pretended not to be interested at all. He saw her looking around as if she was looking for someone- the plot thikens, he thought. " Lagta hai baat ban gayi. Am I the one she is looking for?? " He was on cloud nine by now Then her eyes fell upon him. As her face lit up with recognition, his air of studied indiffrence vanished and they walked towards each other. Ther was something in her hand...something wrapped up. " For me??" He asked to himself. At last... They stood face to face. By now, he knew what was coming and waited expectantly. She tore open the packet and handed...almost tossed it to him. She patted his head affectionately as he munched the biscuit wagging his tail in delight.
Every dog has his day...right???

Two sides of Love
His side
-"Tell her how you feel" is what my friends said -So I picked up the phone -Called your house -You answerd -I said "I Love you" -And hung up right away -The next day -I told you it was a bet from a friend -It was partly true -But you didn't react -No sassy come back which you always do -Just stood there -Then walked away
Her side
-You called my house -I picked up -You told me you loved me -Then hung up -The next day -I was going to tell you I loved you back -But you said it was a bet -I had everything planned out -Every move I planned -Every word I rehearsed -But when you said that... -I had nothing to say -I stood and watched you -As you broke my heart

It rained today
The sky is a clear blue color of the bluest ocean patches of scattered clouds, like cotton candy... the birds distant chirping sounds can be heard in a field of silence..
I sit under the shade of the greenest of trees. The Sun playing hide-n-seek between the moving branches, casting a warm touch upon my face intermingled with a cool breeze playing with my hair...
A pen in my hand, the diary in my lap my thoughts... so far off in another land.. another dream world. Suddenly I feel a drop of water fall on my hand, then another.. opening my eyes I look towards the sky no dark clouds in sight the beauty of the place is still the same...
I touch my cheeks and find them wet the drops I felt were the tears I had shed .. the wind I had felt sweeping my hair was the gentle touch of your fingertips.. the warmth I had felt upon my face was but the closeness of your being..
I sigh once more and close my eyes rest my head upon my knees. One more day gone by and we are still apart.. and, yes, it rained once more today like always it does but... deep in my heart.

And God created Man..
One day in the Garden of Eden, Eve calls out to God. "Lord, I have a problem!"
"What's the problem, Eve?"
"Lord, I know you created me and provided this beautiful garden and all of these wonderful animals and that hilarious comedic snake, but I'm just not happy."
"Why is that, Eve?" came the reply from above.
"Lord, I am lonely, and I'm sick to death of apples."
"Well, Eve, in that case, I have a solution. I shall create a man for you."
"What's a man, Lord?"
"This man will be a flawed creature, with many bad traits. He'll lie, cheat, and be vainglorious; all in all, he'll give you a hard time. But he'll be bigger, faster and will like to hunt and kill things. He will look silly when he's aroused, but since you've been complaining, I'll create him in such a way that he will satisfy your physical needs. He'll be witless and will revel in childish things like fighting and kicking a ball about. He won't be too smart, so he'll also need your advice to think properly."
"Sounds great." says Eve, with an ironically raised eyebrow. What's the catch, Lord?"
"Well ... you can have him on one condition."
"What's that, Lord?"
"As I said, he'll be proud, arrogant, and self-admiring. So you'll have to let him believe that I made him first. Just remember, it's our little secret. You know, woman to woman."
